Report a false alarm

If Aegisrook flags something you know is fine, send a report so the check stops flagging it for everyone. Nothing is sent until you send it yourself.

Click Report a False Alarm… on the alert, add a note if you like, then click Create Email or Save as File…. Nothing leaves your Mac until you send it yourself.

Reports are used to fix the check, so it stops flagging things like this for everyone. Reporting doesn’t change anything on your Mac: to stop the alert, click Allow on it.

Send a report

  1. Find the alert: in the alert window, in Alerts, or in Live Activity. In Alerts, Report a False Alarm… appears on Review and Danger alerts.
  2. Click it. A window explains what the report is for and what it includes.
  3. Optionally, say what the program is in What is it? (optional).
  4. Click Create Email to open a new message with the report attached, then click Send in Mail. Or click Save as File… and send the file however you like.

What gets sent

  • The alert, what Aegisrook saw, and your note
  • The program’s developer, signature and fingerprint (SHA-256)
  • Your Aegisrook and macOS versions
  • The last 30 minutes of Aegisrook’s own log, with website addresses and saved keys removed

Your files aren’t included. To read the whole report before you send it, open What the report includes in the window and click Preview Report.
