Install Aegisrook on the new Mac and enter the same licence key you used before. One licence covers three Macs you own, so you don’t need to buy it again.

Set up the new Mac

  1. Install Aegisrook on the new Mac.
  2. Enter your licence key. If you can’t find it, get it again.
  3. Go through the setup list again. Permissions and the firewall are approved per Mac, so macOS asks again on the new one.

Remove it from the old Mac

If you’re giving the old Mac away or it would be your fourth, remove the licence from it: open Settings, choose the Help & Reset tab and click Remove Licence… in the Licence section. Then uninstall Aegisrook if you no longer need it there.

Using Migration Assistant

If you move your user account with Migration Assistant, Aegisrook comes across with your other apps. Its settings, history and licence key are kept in your user account, so they come too, and you don’t need to enter the key again.

Open Aegisrook on the new Mac and go through the setup list once more:

  • Full Disk Access and the firewall may need approving again. If the firewall was on, Aegisrook asks macOS to set it up as soon as it opens, and macOS asks you to approve it.
  • Firewall rules are kept outside your user account, so they may not come across. To be safe, open Network › Rules on the old Mac first and click Export…, then Import… the file on the new one.

The old Mac still has the licence too. Remove it there if the new Mac would be your fourth.
